I’m a principal software engineer based in Florence, Italy. I’ve been writing software for 20 years, 15 of them around PostgreSQL: backup and disaster recovery, the delivery platforms that ship database products, and lately the tooling that lets AI agents use a database safely.

Most of that time I spent at 2ndQuadrant and then at EDB, which acquired it in 2020. I built the continuous delivery platforms at both companies, led the Barman team at EDB, and finished in EDB’s AI team working on MCP connectivity for Postgres, starting from pg-airman-mcp. My fascination with computers started with Ghostbusters on the Commodore 64 and its multi-coloured loading screen. Away from the keyboard I cook (I’m Italian, after all), drink a lot of coffee (no cappuccino after 11 AM), play video games and DJ.
